Every fashion year starts with a much anticipated PFDC Sunsilk fashion week and the fashion fraternity is just looking forward to see what’s in store for them by the most sought after designers . If we call the PSFW a trendsetter , it won’t be an exaggeration in my opinion . Like every other year , the PSFW ’18 officially kick started the fashion year in Lahore bringing in the crème de la crème of the fashion industry from all across the country . With all the glitz and glam that remains the highlight of the red carpet of a fashion week , we were more interested in what hits the ramp .Not as fierce as some of my mates in ripping people apart , we tried to keep our heads clear while we went through some major fashion disasters which definitely needed a heart of LION (if you know what I mean ) to put such pieces on display, that too publically .
Any how , that’s a separate story , while today we are more focused on our top 5 designers/collections hot off the ramp of PSFW’18 with a little more focus on the details:
Trust the king of couture to set the stage on fire with his signature regal take on fashion . this year his collection “Be your own Knight” featured some of the most majestic (yet wearable , which is important too FYI) ensembles to hit the runway . Set in a complete black theme , the silhouettes varied from some sleek cut pant suits to floor sweeping gowns .With each piece exuding a beauty of its own , HSY took it to another level with his collection that closed the fashion week on its day 3 .
2. Hira Ali Studios:
Hira Ali never fails to impress with her special attention to fine details and her courage to experiment with different fabrics . Her collection” Woman is Future” gave the slogan a whole new meaning with a signature cloth that was incorporated in various ensembles of the collection . From beautifully crafted silk skirts to flattering jumpsuits , the collection had something for everyone . This young beauty with brains definitely knows how to make a statement !
3. Hussain Rehar :
Can someone tell this guy to get a breather ? Man, he has been on a winning streak ever since his first collection came out ! This guy definitely knows how to craft solid pieces and work with embellishments to enhance the piece to the point of perfection . I absolutely love the way he plays around with a vast array of colors in a single collection and gives different pieces that you can either pair up or just use separately to make a statement . Kudos to this guy for always bringing something totally out of the box to the ramp.
4. Saira Shakira :
This dynamic duo has great Aesthetic when it comes to artist play of colors & prints . “An open Canvas ” featuring color splatter patterns , flattering silhouettes and unique pairing of different fabrics was definitely a delight to watch up close . Keeping the collection minimal yet trendy , my absolute favorite has to be the splatter bottoms that can be styled in so many ways!
5. Mona Imran :
Quirky , fun and true to its name ” An Ode to Picasso ” by Mona Imran totally swept us off our feet . The incorporation of those abstract pieces on a plain white canvas was truly a work of genius. With some solid color blocking and pairing statement jewelry pieces , Mona Imran delivered one of the best collections this fashion week !
