Finally its going to be fall and are we excited or what. One of primary reasons being that finally we’ll be stepping out from the plethora of lawn and get to see some new stuff on the ramp as change of season is always greeted by major fashion shows in the major fashion hubs of the country. Recently, we got to take a front row (bench actually) at the PFDC LOréal Bridal Couture Week 2018 in Lahore and jotted down some of the trends that made repeated appearances on thr ramp. Not saying that these are the IT thing you need to have in case you are warming up to the approaching wedding season, but have a look and make them work for you :
1.Statement Sleeves :
Collection after collection we got to see some creative take on the sleeves and we are literally intrigued. No we are not talking about run of the mill flared sleeves or the cold shoulders, we are talking big this time. From some extreme flares as done by Nomi Ansari to the knee length sleeves with slits, this season is all about those sleeves, go make them grand!
2.Ditch those Reds and Golds :
Raise your hands if you are totally dreading to be drowned in the sea of Reds and golds on every wedding you are going to attend. This season is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and getting an unconventional color for your wedding wear! We are totally digging this neon Lime from IVY Couture, the emerald Green by Faraz manan and these amazingly done blacks by House of kamiar rokni and Misha Lakhani, total shadi material I tell you!
3. Do the Gotta the good old way:
no matter How much old school and cliché you might want to call me but the charm of those Gotta embellished duppatas and outfits from our mother’s time is something fascinating. Since we are going back on reviving so many things, I was pleasantly surprised to see the gotta studded ensembles fromm house of kamiar rokni, misha lakhani & nickie nina on the runway, done just the way I love them, bright bold with a little bit of crudeness. Time to take out those joras lying in the boxes and flaunt them this season!
4.Jackets :
Thank God someone finally thought of bringing some jackets in trend to pair up with formal dresses so we can stop freezing in the name of fashion! Wear it long, wear it short, layer it up on a saree, make it with velvet, make it with organza, Jackets are here for the season! Absolutely loved the different take on the trend by major design houses including Hira Ali Studios , HSY , Ali Xeeshan Theatre studio , Faraz Manan, Jeem official & Saira Shakira
5.Layer it up :
Its the season of textures and layering them up. Wear a flared top over a ruffled lehnga, take a gown and wesr over a saree, or just get a velvet sawal a tuck it away along with your chiffon duppata. Take queues from HSY , Hussain Rehar & Saira Shakira on the trend and get your favorite pieces together to pair them up to make a statement this season.
