The past weekend was a pretty busy one but in a good way as the biggest fashion extravaganza took place in the cultural heart of the Country i.e Lahore. The PFDC sunsilk Fashion week is one of the most anticipated fashion event of the year as it sets the trends for the season and people actually wait to see what’s hot these days.
Now we all know that all that goes up the ramp doesn’t have to be the best and like every fashion week we had our favourites and today we are all about them.
Chapter 2 by Khaadi is one brand that has risen to the heights in no time and we are actually glad every time we see them on the ramp because they break the monotony of the almost similar overworked, drenched in colour collections and present to us a collection where every piece is wearable right off the ramp. The striking solid colour pallete and simple yet sleek cuts made Chapter 2 by Khaadi stand out this fashion week as well.
Sania Mastakiya brought timeless elegance on the ramp with a diverse evening wear collection Isfahan featuring gowns and lehnga cholis perfect for the summer festives. The color range was as broad as it could be from easy breezy pastels to hues of tangerine and reds that are a must in every desi formal wardrobe. Minimally embellished with beautifully crafted gotta and light weight works, these were definitely standing out from plethora of heavily worked dresses that are almost Bridals to be honest.
Known for their perfect blend of traditional hues and modern cuts, the house of Kamiar Rokni was a treat to eyes once again. Bringing the old school charm of shalwar kameez and rustic tilla and gotta work on the ramp that makes you want to get all your friends and family married again so you can wear those dresses is only something House of Kamiar Rokni can do!
Hassan Shehryar Yasin (HSY) celebrated his 25 years in fashion industry with a monochrome collection named Rani, an ode to his Mother and it couldn’t have been better. The red on red collection was such a statement maker where every piece was highly versatile and there was something for everyone. Trust HSY to make grand statements and make you want to do the same.
The official shoe partner Borjan has truly upped their style game this season and brought versatility on the ramp. From clear heels to gorgeous khussas they had something to go with everything and we absolutely loved it.
A shout out to Sadia Siddiqui of Mustang Productions for choreographing such a beautiful show all three days from the simple showcase by Chapter 2 to highly energetic show by Nomi Ansari to the closing act by HSY that was as grandiose as it could have been.
