Its December, its winters and in Pakistan its officially Wedding season! And with that comes the most asked question, what to wear? For years now HUM Bridal Couture Week has been commencing with out any breaks bringing us the latest of Bridal trends that are instantly followed and admired. To be honest, its one of the most awaited fashion events in the fashion fraternity, because come on lets get real, everyone wants to wear the latest cuts to the sister’s  brother in law’s wife’s second cousin’s wedding even! Hard life, no?

Anyhow, the 16th Hum Bridal Couture week 2018 took place from 7th till 9th December in the fashion hub of the country, Lahore  dragging out even a person like me for 3 days, who prefers pjs over anything. But what we saw wasn’t something that left us with a total jaw drop except a couple of pieces in total that were genuinely exquisite and very versatile that you can style them in so many ways, so we decided to do our top 5 pieces  that we absolutely loved and here they are for you!

1. Embellished Tweed Jacket by HSY :

NOW.THAT. IS. FASHION. Period! Even though the whole collection SHAH by HSY was a delight to see and such a breather from the plethora of typical worked Bridals, still we wouldn’t say it was a bridal collection but still have a look at this grey tweed jacket with those statement sleeves and that gold one shoulder embellishment. Pair this with plain black pants, or even banarsi ones if your relatives are more of a haw-Haiy wearing black at shadi type. Pair with a worked skirt or even a saree. Or just drape it over your shoulders. This one piece can be Styled so many ways and in every way its just going to lift your outfit a million times.

2. Statement cape by Munib Nawaz:

Essentially a men’s designer, we managed to set our heart on this red cape that pictures do no justice to! And what a genius to combine 3 different patterns together and make it a fly outfit that you can just take right of the ramp into your wardrobe. This cape would look absolutely stunning with a crop top and flared pants, plain or embellished both. To add a little pizzazz, throw in some brooch or some blingy earrings and you are good to go!

3. Gota and Chicken Kari work Front open shirt by Nickie Nina :

I would say combining three classics, white, gota and chicken kari is such a smart move. This outfit is such a pretty piece to have in your wardrobe that you can get multiple uses from that to for years. Wear it all white or throw in contrasting Seperates underneath either way its going to be beautiful. A bright  pastel floral lehnga or wide legged pants would make it look more edgy while pairing with a plain jamawar inner and churidar will make it more traditional!

4. Mustard Saree by Mehdi Couture :

I think you can see my obsession with sarees! This particular mustard one caught my eye because of its exquisitely embellished blouse, handworked with tilla is a beautiful piece to own. While you can drape the saree many ways, you can just add plain chiffon under the blouse and worked pants to make it look modren. Add a plain silk lehnga would do as well  Or just wear it as a jacket over a plain gold outfit.

5. Yellow Lehnga by Nilofer Shahid:

This yellow lehnga by Nilofer shahid might look like a regular bridal to many but you can take it piece by piece and tone it down a little. Pair the worked skirt with a maroon velvet top and chiffon duppata and you are good to go. Plain pants with the front open gown would do so well and look super classy. And of course if you are the bride you can take it all and rock it for sure because its your day afterall!
